The Winter 2024 edition of our Still Caring events programme has now been published, covering the period November 2024 to February 2025, together with the latest Carers Newsletter. There’s something to spark the imagination of everyone, with everything from sculpture to woodworking, biology labs to astronomy tours, illuminated castles to Christmas pantos — plus our friendly and welcoming Carers Open Day. You can register your interest in attending our events by first getting in touch with us by email or phone. Please note that places are often limited and can be subject to different kinds of prioritisation according to the nature of the event and the specific programme. Where an event can accommodate the carer and their cared-for person attending together, this will be highlighted in the description.
Care for Carers runs a series of walks throughout the year, helping carers to get a short break from their caring roles. We travel through the quiet, peaceful parks and green spaces in and around Edinburgh, sometimes further afield, finding out a little more about our surroundings and one another.
The expected terrain is indicated beside each walk, but sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing are always essential. Minibus transport is provided where appropriate.
Both carers and former carers are welcome to attend. Please contact us in advance to reserve a place on a particular walk.
