Stepping Out®
1 to 5-night supported breaks across Scotland
Whether you’re looking for a city break or a remote island retreat, our residential breaks are designed around you – providing opportunities for rest and relaxation, peer support and new experiences.
We plan and co-ordinate all of our programmes based on carers feedback and review. The breaks are fully supported and facilitated throughout with staff always on hand so that you are able to fully relax. All we ask of you is to pack your bag and turn up – we take care of everything!

Stepping Out®
Stepping Out® is our flagship rolling programme of residential breaks — and for many carers, it’s the highlight of the year.
Throughout the year we offer a varied programme of group breaks, from city escapes and remote rural retreats to themed experiences such as relaxation weekends, theatre and astronomy breaks. Every break is completely free of charge for carers, with all travel, accommodation, meals and activities included — so all you need to bring is yourself.

Dark sky astronomy breaks
For over 10 years, we have been working in partnership with Cosmos Planetarium to take carers to dark sky locations such as the inner Hebrides and the Small Isles of the western coast of Scotland for short breaks.
Our dark sky breaks always include stargazing opportunities and a range of astronomy-themed activities. More information about these breaks can be found in our Stepping Out® programmes.
