Walking Group – Alpine Adventure & Swanston Stroll

We meet at Hillend, lying just south of Edinburgh at the start of the Pentland Hills and home to the Midlothian Snowsports Centre. There, we will have a spin on the Alpine Coaster ride, where we are gently catapulted on a cart along a winding metal monorail.

The first in Scotland, the Coaster is an interactive ride (riders control the speed of their own cart), with an 360 degree helix, an overall length of 980 metres, and an invigorating vertical drop of 74 metres.

Following our ride, we will take a leisurely stroll towards Swanston village, with its picturesque, thatched cottages set around an informal village green, where there is a cafe.
